Error Detection and Citizenship
Each day at the start of class students are asked to answer the following question:
- Preparedness (Brought instrument and music/book)
- Citizenship (was focused and used a pencil in class to mark in music and write down things to work on)
- Error Detection (points awarded if the student gave an honest effort even they didn't quite get the correct answer)
- Error Detection is a rhythm or set of pitches written on the board at the start of class each day. Students write these rhythms or pitches on their Error Detection sheet. The teacher plays the excerpt and intentionally make a mistake. It is the students job to find this error and circle it on their page.
